The family of the Popular Broadcaster in Osun State, Dayo Oderinu on Monday, December 27th, 2021 has unveiled Noah Olawuwo Oderinu Foundation (NOOF) to cater for less privileged after their father whose legacy had been to assist people to quality education and alleviation of poverty.
The popular broadcaster also marked the 5th anniversary of one of his popular Radio Programmes on Rave FM, called Karakata’ supporting people in an elaborate event at SOB event Hall Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
During the launching of the Noah Olawuwo Oderinu Foundation (NOOF), award of excellence was presented to deserving distinguished men and women who gave philanthropic supports to the downtrodden in the society through Karakata Program.
The Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade while addressing the congregations through opening remarks, thanked the organizers of the event in honour of late Deacon Noah Olawuwo Oderinu who was a friend and associate until his death.
Alhaji Akinbade maintained that the late Deacon Oderinu lived his life in his lifetime to serve the humanity.
Dr. Adetunbi Saheed Ige, in his keynote address, commended the organisers of the event and gave reasons why it is necessary to give to the less privilege in the society.
According to him, “the major impact of charity is to make people happy.”
Adetunbi said charity enables equitable distribution of wealth from where there is excess of amenities to where there is shortage of it to assist the less privilege, victims of war, terrorism or natural disasters.
“I want to appreciate the organizers for this initiative.” He said, “In our own little way let us give to make life bearable for us all.”
While speaking with Voice Air Media’ Correspondent, the Project Manager of Noah Olawuwo Oderinu Foundation (NOOF), Mr Dayo Oderinu has described the foundation after this father whose legacy had been to assist people to quality education and alleviation of poverty.
“NOOF is a child of purpose, it is an organization we are putting forward when we feel the society is challenged and we have been putting lots of efforts in the past in some areas of interventions. At this time we say let us restructure it into key thematic areas, namely, funding of education for the less privilege, that is, good access to quality education, Dayo Oderinu revealed
The Popular Broadcaster went further that the Foundation would contribute to capacity building to alleviate poverty by training people after which they will be allowed to use the Foundation’s equipments for six months to raise capital to start their own business.
“The last one is to undertake Health Insurance on behalf of Rural Dwellers, Widows and the less privilege in the society to have access to free health care paid for by the Foundation, he said.
ORIGIN OF NOOF
It was named after our father whose legacy had been to assist people to quality education and alleviation of poverty.
And in order not to leave any vacuum, we have to continue where he stopped to carry on with his legacy of service to God and humanity, the Project Manager narrated.
Beneficiaries of the Foundation includes, the market women, widows and the downtrodden masses in the villages.
The foundation doled out food stuffs and items to the aged men and women, orphans, students, market women and people to cushion the effects of high costs of living at this Christmas and New Year festive season.
