Senator empowers 1,500 youths, women in Zamfara

A senator representing Zamfara North Senatorial Zone, Senator Sahabi Ya’u has trained 1,500 youths and women in vocational skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development in the four local government areas of the zone.

 

 

Speaking during the distribution exercise of the empowerment materials and the commissioning of constituency projects in Kaura-Namoda town, Senator Ya’u said the beneficiaries were trained in various skills for them to become self-reliant.

 

 

He said, “Through the training, we would make them self-reliant and generate wealth and create employment opportunities to our teeming youths and women.”

 

 

This will go a long way in adding value to the credible efforts of Governor Matawalle in the provision of sustainable peace, security and development of our dear Zamfara State”.

 

 

The empowerment materials distributed by the Senator at the occasion included 45 cars, motorcycles, 150 tricycles, 50 sewing machines, 150 grinding machines, 180 Laptops, GMS repair tools.

 

 

Others are, pump repairs tools, goats and sheep as well as vulcanizing machines, while more items would be distributed to over 1000 persons in due course.

 

 

Speaking at the occasion, Governor Bello Matawalle lauded the efforts of Senator Ya’u towards poverty eradication among the unemployed youths and women in the state.

 

 

Matawalle called on all politicians in the state to emulate Senator Ya,u for the state to move forward.

 

Also speaking, the Principal Consultant AMSAG Development and Public Health Consulting Dr Abdullahi Maiwada said their firm has trained about 1500 youths, women, farmers in various skills acquisition and entrepreneurial development.

 

 

Maiwada said, “Capacity building of our youth in vocational skills will make them self-reliant and generate job opportunities and consequently help in reducing the menace of insecurity bedevilling our society.”

 

 

“It will also create wealth among our teeming youth population as well sustainable socio-economic development.”

 

 

He stated that the projects were implemented through various federal govt agencies such as NAPRI- ABU Zaria, NITT Zaria and Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda all sponsored by Sen. Sahabi Yau Kaura as part of his constituency projects.
