For the past few days, it has been all celebration in the land of IleOgbo, a community area of Osun state.

On Friday, December 10th, the ancient town of Ile-Ogbo had two reasons to celebrate – the 10th year Coronation anniversary of his Royal Majesty Oba Abeeb Adetoyese Agbaje (JP), the Arowookunjoye 11 The Olu of IleOgbo kingdom and the turning of SOD for the construction of golf course & a befitting hall.

Although it was a modest celebration by all standards of the IleOgbo due to rise in Covid cases, they still found a way to have fun, which marked the attendance of royal fathers, eminent personalities and business moguls from across the country, as flag off construction of golf course in the town was established.

Where, Lanre Adeleke Sports Academy, lead golf lovers in Osun State, Engr Tunde Ponle and Alhaji Olatunde Badmus led others to unveil the golf course.

Speaking at a press roundtable, the Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Dr Dokun Abolarin appreciated the sons and daughters of Ileogbo, he calls on them to come together for the development of the town. The monarch also used the avenue to call on monarchs across the state to be united in charting course for development of the State, adding that the era of over-dependence on government has gone.

According to Oba Dr Dokun Abolarin;

“For we the monarchs, no amount of rancour will bring development to our State. We need to come together and chart new course for our State. If we want to have an international airport in Osun, we have what it takes. Without troubling the government for resources. All we need to do is to be united.”

Oba Abolarin submitted that the founder of Lanre Leke Sports Academy, Engr Lanre Adeleke, is a source of inspiration for the younger ones. He calls for more for investment towards the future of the country by investing in the education sector.

He disclosed that;

“IleOgbo isn’t a just common town that can be overlooked as their past heroes have worked effortlessly in the time past,” the monarch added.

Speaking with Voice Air Media, Justice Jide Falola said on the goodies that the reign of Oba Agbaje has brought into the community, describing it as a fruitful tenure for the sons and daughters of Ileogbo.

“A look at the development of Ileogbo in the last ten years have shown that Oba Abeeb Agbaje is having a fruitful reign. Because of his personality, he has been able to galvanize the sons and daughters of the community home and abroad to work with him for the progress of all and sundry. Oba Agbaje apart from this, also has listening ears. He also carry everyone along in the decision making.

“In short, Oba Agbaje has been so instrumental in bring laudable development to Ileogbo. IleOgbo is now on the World map because of the development we are witnessing here’, the erudite Justice emphasized.

However, the historic occasion witnessed the hosting of different interest great monarchs; the Olowu of Kuta, Oba Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude, Agbowu of Ogbagba, Oba Sikiru Akinropo, among others.

While speaking with our Correspondent, Oba Agbaje gave all the glories to Almighty God for witnessing the milestone. The monarch appreciated sons and daughters of the town for their supports, calling on them to do more for the development of Ileogbo.

“I thank God my Creator for making me witness today. I didn’t know I can spend ten years on the throne of my forefathers but God makes it possible.

“I also want to thank all sons and daughters of Ileogbo for their supports, while I call on those abroad to come together for the development of Ileogbo Kingdom. The journey so far has been good and we thank God for that,” Oba Agbaje rejoiced.

This 10th year’s anniversary celebration was held at the open space behind the IleOgbo city hall. Event sees the popular musician; Don Siju Harmony, Sons, daughters and friends, different groups, artisans, among others in colorful attires, feasting and paying homage to his Royal Majesty especially, celebrating with him ten years of peace, development and progress in the kingdom.
