Karshi water fall is located in Karu Local Government Area

Unsourced material may be challenged and removed. New Karshi is a town in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Nigeria, founded in the 1980s by Muhammadu Bako II. It is a semi-autonomous local government created out of Karu LGA as Karshi Development area with the administrative secretariat in Uke. Karshi is about 38 km to Federal capital city of Abuja and 41 km from Karshi to Apo.

Karshi water fall is one of the most unique and unexplored tourist attractions in Nigeria,due to the following reasons;

(1),No accessibility; Bad roads,and insecurity.
(2),Lack of capital,funds and Governmental low participation,interest and assistance to rural tourism development.
(3),No nearby accommodations such as hotels,Lounge,Inn and motels.
(4) Low community understanding about tourism and participation in rural tourism.
(5),Lack of adequate advertisements,billboards,Tv broadcast,Etc.
(6)The predominant tribe in this town is the Gwandaras who constitute about 85% of the total population.

In the 80s with the creation of Abuja as Federal Capital Territory some Gwandaras left to create what is known today as New Karshi in Nasarawa State with a first class Emir, Muhammadu Bako III (PhD). Other monitory tribes in Karshi are Gade, Gbagyi, Hausa, Fulani, Yoruba, Igbo, Idoma and Tiv.

The predominant occupations of the major inhabitants are farming, hunting and blacksmithing. Islam is the major religion of the people in Karshi central area while few minority tribes dispatch around the area practice Christianity.

Karshi remained with Keffi Native Authority (NA) till 1976 when the new Federal Capital Territory was carved out of some neighboring state then Plateau state.

Karshi waterfall is a blessing to Nigeria because;

(1),karshi water fall supplies the host communities Water from the waterfalls and it can also be used for domestic purposes like washing clothes, utensils and other things at home. They also helping irrigation of the different crops in the country, due to changing weather that affects farmers, the waterfalls provide water which is used in irrigation purposes.

(2),Karshi waterfall;provide soothing sights and sounds that help you relax and de-stress in today’s busy world. Lower your blood pressure and improve your physical and mental health as you prop your feet up and enjoy the therapeutic effects of Mother Nature.

(3),Enviromental Conservation:Enviromental sustainability has taken center stage in today’s world, and water plays an important role as the world’s greatest resource.

Once they enter our blood stream, our production of serotonin is increased, therefore making us naturally happier. So, basically, iam happier around karshi waterfall.,Secondly,Karshi area is Suited for smaller projects where requirements are well defined and lastly,Karshi water fall are wonders of nature that humans have adored since ancient times. The sight, sound, and feel of the waterfall are what make them so appealing to me.

Just for a moment, imagine you are travelling across the serpentine and sometimes vicious curves of a mountainous terrain?..()As a professional tourism practitioner and consultant, I we love to list out What should federal Government(Federal ministry of information and culture)do to develop karshi waterfall; Firstly,Tourism has given many reasons to the developing countries, such as Jordan, Egypt, Israel, South Africa, Jamaica, Lebanon etc. to promote Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflow to their territories realizing the fact that,

(i)tourism generates major internal generated revenue(IGR) to such countries that may not have access to revenue through other types of industries or natural assets like oil, gas or uranium.

(ii)Infrastructure: Infrastructure plays a very important role when it comes to investing in the tourism sector in the host country because of its inherent cost implication on the investor. Infrastructure includes man-made establishments such as domestic and international airports, roads, and boarder checking points in addition to transportation facilities and constructions like power stations, dams, bridges and so on.

(iii) Natural Resources Attractions:The Natural attractions are God made, such as spring water, water falls, wildlife, mountains, land features and natural landscape.
Security: In the wake of catastrophic natural disasters and rising threats of terrorism,Kidnapping and wild animals.

(iv) Political stability:Continuity in Government and National policy implementation.

Adoption and investment in the modern technology know how.
And lastly,I we implore the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture(Tourism department) to invest more capital on karshi waterfall by employing and empowering the indigenous people of karshi and I believe this we reduce the rate of crime and unemployment in the host community.
