Imo: Four killed as security operatives engage robbers in gun battle

Four robbers have been killed after their gang engaged a combined team of military men and police officers in a gun duel at Umuaka in the Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State for hours.

 

 

According to PUNCH, an eyewitnesses said the robbers were in the area to rob operatives of Point Of Salem, POS Services before the security operatives who acted on a tip-off responded swiftly.

 

 

The robbers opened fire upon sighting the security operatives and they responded immediately, leading to the instant death of three of them while the other gave up the ghost in a hospital.

 

 

The source told the publication; “It was a heavy gun battle. The residents of the area ran away owing to the intensity of the gun battle. At end of the day, four robbers were neutralized. The robbers came to rob POS operatives.”

 

 

Police spokesperson for the command, Micheal Abattam confirmed the incident.
