Drama As Osun Constituency Bars Citizens From Contesting Governorship Against Oyetola In 2022

The leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ede/Egbedore/ Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun state have thrown their support behind the second term bid of Governor Gboyega Oyetola, stating that nobody from the federal Constituency should contest primary against the governor.

The APC leaders, who converged at the Ido-Osun in their numbers, said whoever contests the primary against the governor from the federal Constituency is not known to them and he or she would not have their support in any form whatsoever.

The APC leaders said that decision to declare Governor Gboyega Oyetola as their sole candidate for the upcoming gubernatorial election was born out of the conviction they have that he would definitely take the state to an enviable status among the comity of states .

VAM News recalls that the APC had slated March, Saturday 5th, 2022 for its primary election, just as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fixed July 16, 2022 for the Osun Gubernatorial election.

The party leaders, at a press conference addressed by its elders Chairman- Alh. Gbadebo Ajao on Tuesday, said they were impressed by the starling administrative style and unprecedented achievements of the governor, despite the myriads of economic challenges and humongous debt burden inherited from the previous administration .

In the text Titled “Declaration Of Unwavering Support For Oyetola’s Second Term”, the party members stressed “whosoever contests against the incumbent Governor is Not known to them and does NOT/would not have their support in any form whatsoever.
