Just two weeks after the collapse of a 21-story building in Ikoyi, another case of a multi-storey building collapse was reported in Lagos, Sunny Filled, Flour Mills, Estate, Magbon, Badagry on Wednesday 17 November.
According to Mrs Margaret Adeseye, Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, Badagry Fire Station has rescued four victims from the building under construction while concerted efforts are underway to rescue the remaining trapped victims.
The victims, who are mainly construction workers, were however rescued with varying degrees of injuries but in stable condition and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
She added, however, that four adult men have been recovered (unconscious) so far.
Adeseye noted that Nigerian Police, Morogbo’s Division and community members compliment the efforts of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services in the rescue operations.
