UNIOSUN: Bello emerges acting VC as Popoola exits office

A professor of Geo-technical engineering, Adefemi Bello has been announced as the acting vice chancellor for Osun State University, Osogbo.

 

 

The tenure of the outgoing Vice Chancellor, Prof. Labo Popoola ends on Thursday after five years at the saddle.

 

 

But the appointment of a new VC had been stalled by a case instituted by Nigeria Medical Association and seven professors before an Osun State High Court.

Bello, who until his current appointment, was Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration and Development, would hold forth pending the appointment of a substantive VC for the university.

 

 

Announcement of the acting vice chancellor was announced by the Chairman of Governing Council, Mallam Yusuf Alli, SAN, at a press briefing in Osogbo.

 

 

Alli said Bello’s appointment takes effect on Friday.
