The doodle features the Nigerian green-white-green colour, with a picture of an eagle displayed.

A click on the doodle opens up another page where very significant facts about Nigeria and its history are displayed.

The Google doodle is used to mark special events and individuals around the world.

It has been used to celebrate several historical figures and events around the world.

Meanwhile, Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari, has restated his commitment to ensure that Nigeria remains united despite agitations for secession in some parts of the country.

This was contained in a speech delivered on Thursday night at the closing edition of Nigeria@60 celebration at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

In the speech, President Buhari promised that his government will continue to offer the enabling environment for Nigerians to achieve their dreams “while we count on their support to make Nigeria a better place for all”.
