Commuters and commercial transporters have accused the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of blocking and disrupting the free flow of traffic on the Gbongan-Ibadan road, Ogo-Oluwa Area, Osogbo.
It was observed on Friday morning that the main access road in and out of the Osun State capital was blocked by security personnel who had been deployed heavily to the party secretariat located on the Gbongan-Ibadan road, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo, ahead of the inauguration of APC ward executives and stakeholders meeting prior to the local government congress slated for Saturday 4th September, 2021.
The presence of armed security personnel around the APC state secretariat has instilled palpable fear on the residents and commercial drivers lamented bitterly as the security operatives restricted traffic access on the dual carriageway, a situation which resulted in long traffic build up as road users were forced to seek alternative routes.
Daily Post gathered that a stakeholders meeting would precede the inauguration of the newly elected ward executives on Friday and the local government congress on Saturday.
The spokesperson of the party, Kunle Oyatomi, revealed that the presence of the armed security personnel was to maintain law and order.
He told this medium that security personnel were deployed to ensure caution and forestall a repeat of the chaos that was experienced during the appeal committee seating of Saturday 14th of August, 2021.
