Osun at 30: Osun people are difficult to govern – Says ex-Military Governor

Past military administrators and former civilian governor in Osun State, Colonel Theophilus Bamigboye (rtd), said Osun people are difficult to govern.

This was stated by Col. Bamigbye Rtd. When he featured in an interview on Monday Morning with a radio station in Osogbo, Osun state capital, monitored by VAM News.

Bamigboye, who governed the State from August 1998 to May 1999 during the sixth military regime in Nigeria.

“Osun people are difficult to govern because they are intelligent, all towns under the three zones of the state demanded for rapid development at the same time”, Colonel Theophilus Bamigbo, Rtd stated.

The retired military officer while commenting on the forthcoming 30th Anniversary of the creation of Osun State , said during the course of discharging his responsibility as military governor he stepped on many toes.

“As military officer while discharging your duty you don’t look back”, the former Osun State administrator said.

Retired Colonel Theophilus Bamigboye, however added that the people of the state should forgive him of his sins committed during his time of servicing the state.

He, however, appealed to those he offended to pardon him, adding that he has also forgiven those who offended him.

Speaking on his administration , Col. Bamigbye Rtd added that towns like Ede, Iwo, Osogbo, Ilesa, Ikirun, Ila-Orangun, Ile-Ife among others competed for speedy development.

He also lauded indigenes of the state who serve under his military administration and wished Osun more prosperous years.

Reacting to the recent killing of five farmers at Toro village in Ife – Modakeke area, the rtd military officer condemned the attack.

He however commended HRM, The Ooni of Ife and Ogunsua of Modakek for jointly condemning the dastardly act and for assuring the people that it is not a resurgence of the long resolved crisis.

The rtd conel expressed his satisfaction with the level of development the state.

In addition, he commended the present and the past administrations in the state for their contributions in one way or the other towards the development of the state.
