Court Adjourns Sunday Igboho Associates’ Suit Against DSS

The Federal High Court Abuja has adjourned the suit brought by the 12 detained aides of Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

VAM News reports that the court on Monday adjourned the case to August 4.

Counsel to the applicants, Pelumi Olagbenjesi, was granted a leave to amend his processes to correct the names of the applicants.

Confusing at rising in court over the names of the eight applicants produced by the Department of State Services (DSS). Thus, Olagbejensi applied to amend his processes to reflect their correct names.

The DSS only produced eight out of the 12 detained aides of Sunday Igboho.

Recall that the DSS had bowed to the directives of Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja, compelling it to produce the twelve aides of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, before the court.

This is coming after the Judge ordered the secret police to produce the detained aides of the activist in court today (Monday).

Justice Obiora Egwuatu had on July 29 issued a fresh order following an appeal by the DSS counsel Mr Idowu Awo that the agency be given today to comply with the order.

The aides to Sunday Igboho were brought to court in an 18-seater Toyota Hiace Bus marked, Abuja 785 KWL.

It was reported that the detainees were brought by the secret police under heavy security escort by its operatives.

The aides were arrested when DSS officials raided Igboho’s home on July 1, but have sued on grounds that their fundamental human rights were being infringed on.
