VAM news has gathered that the Osun State Police Command has paraded some criminals terrorising the state.
This was disclosed through a statement released by the state’s command to the press.
The statement reads:
PRESS BRIEFING BY THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE OSUN STATE POLICE COMMAND, CP OLAWALE T. OLOKODE AT THE COMMAND HEADQUATERS, OSOGBO OSUN STATE
Gentlemen of the press, I appreciate and welcome you all to today’s press briefing. As usual, it is the pleasure of the Commissioner of Police, Osun State Police Command, CP Olawale Olokode, psc to invite you again for another great success the command has recorded recently. I shall continue to reiterate the fact that, the police here in Osun is working hard to ensure that, the state is not a safe haven for criminals/ unscrupulous elements.
The following are the brief of the recent successes recorded:
1. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS
SUSPECTS:
i. SEFIU ADEBOYE ‘m’ AGED 22YRS
ii. ADEKUNLE ODEKANYI ‘M’ AGED 21YRS iii. ADEWALE SIMON ‘M’ AGED 37YRS

c. FIVE ANDROID PHONES
d. ONE SMALL ITEL PHONE
e. CRIMINAL CHARMS (JUJU)
On 18th July, 2021 at about 1420hrs, the complainant reported at the Gbongan Police Divisional Headquarters that, unknown thief/thieves armed with Cutlasses, Axe and local Dane Gun broke into their Anglican Mission House at Akiriboto Area at about 0100hrs; carted away with the above named exhibits. On the receipt of the complaint, police detectives swiftly carried out its investigation network to Ogun State, arrested the above first two suspects, and recovered the stolen vehicle. The arrest of the duo also led to the arrest of the third suspects at Akiriboto area of Gbongan and recovered the above mentioned exhibits; the properties of the victim (complainant). They are all confessed to the crime. Suspects will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
2. STEALING
SUSPECT:- MORUFU ABDULLAH ‘M’ AGED 27YRS
EXHIBIT:- ONE AIR CONDITIONER
On 22nd July, 2021 at about 1330hrs, a security person attached to Osun State University Teaching Hospital Annex, Mercy Land one of the Osun State COVID-19 Isolation centres, located at Dada Estate area of Osogbo who was vigilant on duty noticed that, there was a person inside one of the Hospital rooms removing the air conditioners and alerted the Dada Estate Police Station. The Police immediately moved to the scene, condoned the area and arrested one Morufu Abdullah ‘m’ aged 27 years who has removed one of the Air Conditioners in one of the rooms in the Isolation Centre. The suspect has been charged to court.
3. ARREST OF SUSPECTED CULTISTS/HOODLUMS

CONFRATERNITY
On 25th July, 2021 at about 0555hrs, upon the security intelligent availed the Police Command that, some criminal elements were planning to carry out their nefarious act to jeopardize the peace being enjoyed by the good people of the state, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode immediately strategized and give marching order to the Divisional Police Officer, Dugbe Division and raided criminal hideout of suspected cultists across Osogbo and arrested the above notorious criminals who have been terrorizing Osogbo and its environs with the exhibits mentioned above. Suspects confessed to the crime and they will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
4. ARREST OF SUSPECTED THIEF

SANDRA BISONG ‘M’
DIFFERENT BRANDS OF PHONES AND SIM CARDS
On 26th July, 2021 at about 2345hrs, the CP’s surveillance team while on township patrol within Osogbo metropolis accosted one Sandra Bisong ‘m’ with a bag hanged on his neck. The suspect was interrogated, searched and the above exhibits recovered in his bag and he consequently confessed to have snatched/robbed the victims of the exhibits at different locations within Osogbo as some of the victims have identified the suspects and the exhibits. Suspect will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
5. ARREST OF SUSPECTED SHOP BURGLAR
SUSPECT:
MATTHEW AJAYI ‘M’ AGED 18YRS
On 26th July, 2021 at about 1330hrs, on tip off, the police patrol team from CP’s surveillance arrested the above named suspect who have burgled two different shops along Stadium area of Osogbo. The suspect confessed to the crime and mentioned three other members of his syndicate now at large. The suspect equally led the detectives to the shops he and his syndicates have burgled and the victims attested to incessant attacked on their shops. Suspect will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
Osun State Police Command is using this medium to send a note of warning to criminals to turn a new leaf or relocate as the Command under the dynamic leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode, psc is more prepared and ready to take the bull by the horns and take the security battle to their dens.
Also, the CP thanked and appreciated the support of the good people of the state and urges them to maintain the status quo for better service delivery.
