The family of the Supreme Leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has told the Nigerian Government to handle their son with caution, adding that the whole world is watching.

The IPOB leader younger brother, Emmanuel Kanu, stated this while speaking to newsmen in Umuahia, the Abia state capital.

He said Kanu is on the part of truth and has no way committed any crime to deserve any persecution.

According to him, his brother, Kanu was only demanding the freedom of Biafrans which is their fundamental human right, Hence, his rights should be respected.

VAM News had earlier reported that the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami had confirmed Kanu’s arrest during an emergency media briefing in his office.

It was gathered that Kanu was arrested by a combined team of Nigerian and foreign security agents in a coordinated interception on Sunday, June 27.

“My brother (Kanu) has awoken the consciousness of Nigerians about the goings-on in the country.

“He stood for the truth, and heaven is on the part of anyone standing for the truth. My brother committed no crime, and the whole world is watching,” Emmanuel added.
