REC sound warning to corps members ahead of Osun election

THE Honourable Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mutiu Olaleke Agboke on Tuesday, December 3, 2025, in company of the Management Team as well as members of Staff of Inec Osun State was at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation camp, Ede for the INEC Day Sensitization.

The visit was part of the ongoing preparations toward the #2026GovernorshipElection and aimed at equipping corps members who serve as major stakeholders in the electioneering process, with the right knowledge and confidence for their roles.

Addressing the corps members, the REC emphasized the strategic importance of the NYSC in ensuring credible, transparent, and hitch-free elections.

He noted that their involvement has consistently contributed to the integrity of the electoral process, urging them to maintain the same commitment in the forthcoming exercise.

During the interactive session, the corps members were introduced to the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS). The Team took time to explain its functions, operational procedures, and the critical role it plays in voter verification and result transmission. Corps members also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the device firsthand, to boost their preparedness.

He encouraged them to approach their duties with confidence, professionalism, and a sense of national responsibility.

The REC further charged them to contribute positively to the process, uphold neutrality, and remain vigilant in the discharge of their electoral assignments.
