Inside Osun: How Boyfriend, herbalists killed Ogun FRSC officer, daughter

Victor Fajemirokun, boyfriend of Funmilayo Lasisi, an officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) officer, has narrated how he and two herbalists killed the officer and her daughter, Sewa, after luring them from Ogun State to Osun under the guise of spiritual cleansing.

He said he lured the mother and child to their killers after a cleric told him that the 38-year-old Funmilayo was spiritually blocking his progress.

The 40-year-old Fajemirokun was paraded alongside herbalists, Gboyega Daramola and Sunday James at the headquarters of the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Police Force in Osogbo on Wednesday.

Speaking with journalists, Fajemirokun said he invited Funmilayo from Ogun to Ijebu-Jesa in Osun after a cleric told him that “as long as Funmilayo was alive,” he would not succeed.

He said he left his home in Osogbo under the guise of going for prayers in Ikoyi, Osun State, but had already planned with the herbalist for “spiritual cleansing.”

Fajemirokun said, “I met one Gboyega Daramola on TikTok. The agreement between Funmilayo and me was to go and meet him for spiritual cleansing. So when this man (Gboyega) did a spiritual consultation for me, he said Fumilayo was the one causing misfortune for me. So, he asked me to come with her.

“I went there with Funmilayo to his place at Ijebu-Ijesa. The man told Funmilayo that she had to do some rituals and instructed three men to take her to the bush to perform the rituals. It was in the bush that we killed her. The daughter went to the bush with us.

“After killing them, I ran to a mountain in Ikoyi. It was from there that I went to Ibadan. It was as if I was hypnotised. I never really wanted to do that. So, when we got there, I knew that they were going to kill her. I never knew they harvested their organs. I only heard that on the news, and that was when I decided to come back home.”

One of the herbalists, Sunday James, also confessed his role, saying he met the three at his boss Daramola’s house.

James said, “I went to my boss’ house, where I met Victor, a woman, and a young girl. My boss (Daramola) told me that Victor had gone to an Alfa before, where he was told that his woman friend had used his glory. So, he was there for them to kill his wife and his child.

“So, my boss ordered me to kill them and threatened me. We took them to a bush where we used a knife to slit their throats. After that, we cut the woman into pieces.”

Daramola, however, said that it was Fajemirokun who asked them to kill the victims, although he denied being present when the act was carried out.

Giving an update on the investigation, Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, said Fajemirokun was initially reported missing in Ikoyi, where he had gone for prayers, before the case took a different dimension.

He said investigators arrested the herbalist, Daramola, on November 16, 2025. During interrogation, Daramola confessed that Fajemirokun brought the woman and child for a money ritual and revealed those who participated in the killing.

Daramola later led detectives to Esa-Odo Dam, where the mutilated body of Funmilayo was recovered. Her head, breast, hands, and private parts were missing.

Further intelligence led to the arrest of Sunday James in Ekiti State, where he had been hiding. He confessed to slaughtering both victims and took police to the bush where the body of 12-year-old Sewa was found. Her head, hands, and feet were also missing.

The CP added that Fajemirokun fled after the killings but was tracked and arrested in Ghana through Interpol collaboration. He has since been repatriated to Nigeria.

CP Gotan assured that all suspects would be charged to court and efforts were ongoing to arrest others involved in the crime.

Meanwhile, Tribune Online reported that Funmilayo and her daughter were declared missing on Sunday, November 2, after leaving their home at the Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, and never returned.
