Ondo agency gives ultimatum on defective signage, billboards

News Update

THE Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OSSAA) has issued a 14-day ultimatum to signage operators, billboard owners and businesses to repair all defective outdoor advertising structures across the state.

This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday in Akure by Mr Yomi Oyekan, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Signage and Advertisement

The directive, issued in line with Gov. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s urbanisation and city renewal agenda, mandates owners of weak, rusted, tilted or non-compliant billboard and signage structures to fix them within the stipulated period.

He said that at the expiration of the grace period, its task force would begin immediate removal of such structures, adding that any billboard taken down would henceforth be classified as scrap.

The agency warned that owners of removed structures would be sanctioned in accordance with existing regulations.
