Ondo, Ondo State – June 5, 2025

Federal lawmaker, Hon. Dr. Abiola Makinde, has congratulated the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on his resounding victory at the Election Petition Tribunal, describing the ruling as a significant win for democracy, justice, and the people of the state.

The tribunal, sitting in Akure, dismissed the petition filed by Hon. Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), upholding Aiyedatiwa’s mandate as the duly elected Governor of Ondo State. Reacting to the judgment, Hon. Makinde, who was campaign Director General, said the verdict not only validates the will of the people but also strengthens the foundation of democratic governance in the state.

He commended the Governor for his calm, steady, and focused leadership despite post-election distractions and urged him to take this victory as a renewed call to deepen the administration’s development efforts across all zones of the state.

Makinde emphasized the importance of unity among progressive leaders to ensure sustainable development and inclusive growth in Ondo State.
