News Update

THE 2024 edition of Ketewa Festival will hold on Saturday December 28, with a series of exhilarating cultural displays and celebrations of heroic contributions to society.

Ketewa Festival is basically about Idanre land, people, arts and culture. It’s an annual gathering of talents and tributes, a veritable platform of cultural revival that has, in the last five years, become a refreshing part of the highly fascinating town.

The theme for Ketewa Festival 2024 is “OBA ADEGUNLE AROLOYE: A LYRICAL TRIBUTE”

In a detailed statement, the planning committee says Ketewa Festival 2024, which will be held at the Sports Ground of Methodist High School, Idanre, will feature stunning performances by an array of richly talented traditional musicians, all of whom will be paying lyrical tributes to the late monarch.

It promises to be a night of rhymes and rhythms, mimes and pantomimes, choreography and historiography.

There will be competitive chants and poetic invocations between Aghoro Odo and Aghoro Oke.

The statement also lists some outstanding individuals who will receive laurels at the cultural night.

They include the profoundly revered Senior High Chief, Victor Ojo Alalabiaye, the Osolo of Idanre land. Alalabiaye will be celebrated for his uncommon commitment to cultural renaissance, revival of moribund ethos and sustained restoration of Idanre’s traditional values, long eroded by civilization.

Also slated for honour is the Iyaloja of Alade Idanre, High Chief Iwalola Oladehin. Popularly known as Funwontan, Chief (Mrs) Oladehin is an icon of entrepreneurship and market leadership. She will be celebrated for promoting peace and harmony among traders in Alade Kingdom.
