Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has reiterated his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy, emphasizing his administration’s achievements over the past two years.
Adeleke made the remarks on Saturday during a novelty football match held at the Ataoja School of Science football pitch, Osogbo, to commemorate his second anniversary in office. The match, between the state executive council and the Osun State House of Assembly, ended 1-0 in favor of the executive council
Speaking after the game, Adeleke expressed gratitude to his team and the people of Osun for their support. “What we are doing is part of the second anniversary of my assumption of office,” he said. “It has been a long journey, and people still doubt it is two years because of the level of achievements.
The governor highlighted his administration’s financial prudence, stating, “Two years without borrowing a dime. I told God I will try my best not to put Osun in debt. We have entered a covenant with God, and He is doing great things for us.
Adeleke assured citizens that his government remains focused on development, adding that project commissioning would commence on November 26. “Osogbo is becoming beautiful now. We are fixing roads everywhere, and no senatorial district has been left untouched,” he said.
He also urged his commissioners to step up their performance. “Some of you are trying, while some of you are not. If you want to join the train, work. If not, maybe we will tell you to move aside and let someone else do the work,” Adeleke warned.
The governor advised residents to focus on the progress being made in Osun, regardless of developments in neighboring states. “The projects we are executing belong to the people of Osun. Government is a continuum,” he said
Adeleke promised to unveil a comprehensive report of his administration’s achievements on November 27, affirming his commitment to bringing development to every part of the state.
