Yobe Speaker to Gov Buni: Reduce dependance on federal allocation

The Speaker of Yobe State House of Assembly, Ciroma Buba Mashio has advised the state government to diversify its source of revenue and reduce over-dependance on federal allocation.

The Speaker gave the advice while addressing the House before Governor Mai Mala Buni presented the appropriation bill for the 2025 fiscal year.

“To reduce over-dependance on federal allocation and deficit financing of budget, the House is calling on the executive to enhance institutional capacity on diversifying revenue sources of the state.

“Hence the need to enforce the already existing Public Finance Management Laws, and ensure that all revenues go into the State Single Revenue Account,” he said.
