Army Chief: Ilobu Community Advocates Prayers For Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja

THE Ilobu-Asake Development Union, an umbrella body of all sons and daughters of Ilobu, a community in Irepodun local government area of Osun State have thanked God for keeping the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja alive.

According to a statement by the National President of IDU, Pastor Olufemi Salako, the community called for prayer for one of their sons, while cautioning media organizations and social media commentators to stop spreading fake news.

The statement reads, “the entire sons and daughters of Ilobu, the hometown of Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, want to express gratitude to Almighty God for His divine intervention in the life of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, who is currently recuperating from health challenges.

“We are thankful for his survival and commend his base team, the medical team and loved ones who have been supporting him during this period.

“We hereby call on all religious organizations, faith-based groups in Ilobu-Asake, and well-meaning individuals to intensify prayers for Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s speedy recovery, strength, and quick return to his critical duties.

“Regrettably, we have observed rumors circulating in the social media about his health, we strongly admonish those responsible to desist from spreading unfounded information, which can cause unnecessary anxiety and tension. We call on media organizations to adhere to the tenets of their profession while we also caution social media commentators to stop spreading unverified stories.

“We stand in solidarity with Lt. Gen. Lagbaja, his family and the Nigeria Army, and we are confident that with divine intervention and quality care, he will overcome this challenge.”
