The Jigawa State Police Command have arrested three suspected cattle rustlers.

 

Spokesman of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to the Newsmen on Tuesday.

 

According to him, “On 13/08/2024 at about 2005hrs, a distress call was received that, hoodlums numbering about three (3) with their operational motor vehicle Golf 3 Waggon, green in color with registration number BWR 198 AM, stole two (2) cows from Gubusun village in Kirika Samma LGA”

 

“Upon receiving the report, a team of Police Officers from Kirika Samma Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, swiftly mounted a stop and searched along Kirika Samma-Kano road”

“The team successfully intercepted the vehicle alongside the said cows and the following occupants; (1) Yura Alhaji Gwanto ‘m’ age 50yrs of Gubusun, (2) Mohammed Saje ‘m’ age 35yrs of Zagari Fulani settlement, (3) Haladu Yusuf Chakas (driver) ‘m’ age 30yrs of Marma village Kirika Samma LGA”

 

“The vehicle, cows and the suspects were immediately brought to the division for investigation.”

 

He said the suspects confessed to having stolen the cows at the said village.
