Tension Mounts As Members Of NULGE Clash In Osun

Tension mounts during Osun workers day 2024 rally when two factions of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) engaged in fight at the Osogbo Township Stadium, on Wednesday.

Two members of NULGE sustained various degree of injuries and were treated by the team offering free medical services to workers at the event.

It was revealed that the friction was connected to the 2025 Osun NULGE election which has pitched the workers along various factions.

It was gathered that the faction loyal to one of the contestants for the position of president of NULGE in Osun State, possibly started oiling the already tensed situation by singing various songs considered offensive by loyalists of the incumbent president, Comrade Nathaniel Ogungbamgbe, resulting in a free for all.

Ogungbamgbe is said to be seeking another term in office as NULGE president in the 2025 state delegates election.

Quick intervention of notable union leaders calmed the tensed situation before the arrival of Governor Ademola Adeleke to the venue.

Further investigation revealed that the said aspirant is enjoying the support of one of the past presidents of NULGE in Osun State to unseat Comrade Nathaniel Ogungbamgbe come next year Osun NULGE election.

Reports say that the two injured members of NULGE, Mr.Femi Oyeleke and Mrs. Sofiat Raji have reported the incident at the Police Station.

Contestants for various offices in the 2025 Osun NULGE election have used the 2024 Workers Day celebration to demonstrate their strengths and canvassed for support ahead of next year election.
