Osun: Government Announces Road Closure, Diversion In Osogbo

The Osun State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has announced a temporary road closure and diversion starting from Friday, April 19th, to Monday, April 22nd, and permanent closure starting from Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024.

According to a statement released by the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Bashir Bello, the closure and diversion affect routes leading to LAMECO roundabout and Okefia. The diversion is aimed at enabling the ministry to carry out essential road maintenance and infrastructure upgrade.

Motorists and road users are advised to follow diversion signs and directions from traffic control officers, including the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Osun Traffic Marshals (OTRAMA). The diversion routes have been carefully planned to minimize disruption to traffic flow.

The ministry has apologized for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the cooperation of motorists and road users.

Details of the diversion routes are as follows:

– Motorists coming from Ilobu/Agunbelewo road enroute Jerrypaul/West Byepass should take the road beside LAIM hotels (Oroki Estate area) to their destination.
– Road users from Ilobu/Agunbelewo road enroute stadium roundabout should take a diversion created just before Abe Igi Aanu relaxation centre and burst out at NNPC Mega station and towards the stadium.
– Motorists from Okefia enroute Capital area/Dada Estate should divert at a road beside Osun State Property Development Authority.
– Those coming from Okefia enroute stadium should take inside the GRA and find their way.
– Motorists coming from LAMECO Junction axis enroute Dada Estate will no longer get to Okefia roundabout before negotiating a new diversion route beside Government House Annex to link the Dada Estate road.

The ministry has assured that traffic control officers will be stationed at strategic locations and junctions to direct motorists and road users.
