Labour rejects Nigerian government’s plan to sell state-owned TCN

VAM News Update

THE Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, has rejected the planned privatisation of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN.

NLC warned that selling the company would worsen the socio-economic conditions of Nigerians.

This is following the Federal Government’s announcement to sell the company.

President of NLC, Joe Ajaero, said the planned privatisation portends great danger to the power sector and holds great fear and trepidation for major stakeholders within the power sector.

NLC called on all Nigerians to rise against it in the interest of future generations.

“It imperils the ability of the state to control, regulate, and guarantee the safety of the nation’s grid system at all times,” NLC argued.
