Your illegal structures will go down – FCT Minister, Wike tells Abuja Residents

THE new minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has hit the ground running barely two hours after he was inaugurated to work in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet.

 

After he took the oath of office administered that Chief Justice of Nigerian, Olukayode Ariwoola, Wike announced that he would not allow illegal buildings in Abuja to remain standing as the FCT minister.

 

The former Rivers governor said in clear terms:

“If you know you build a house where you are not supposed to build, it will go down. Sorry! It will go down!”

Wike was said to have shaken President Tinubu’s hand longer than his colleagues at the swearing-in ceremony in Abuja on Monday after taking the oath of office, which caused laughter among the attendees.
