JUST IN: Police arrest online vendor for defrauding 73 people

A 23-year-old female online vendor, Victoria Akinnowonu, has been arrested by the Niger State Police Command for defrauding 72 people in the state.

 

The Police in a statement on Sunday said Victoria specialises in displaying items such as female clothes, bags, shoes, phones, laptops and other electronic gadgets online to attract buyers.

 

Victoria confessed to having gathered many customers online who usually placed orders for such items. She added that she had many orders that she couldn’t meet up to after getting paid for them.

 

The police said about 72 people have come forward to give statements on how they were defrauded by the suspect since her arrest.

The suspect is undergoing interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna.
