Breaking: Angry youths attack police station after trigger-happy officer killed 70-year-old woman in Adamawa

Angry youths have attacked a police station after a seventy-year-old grandmother simply identified as Yerbure, was shot dead by a trigger-happy officer on a regular patrol in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.

 

 

 

 

The incident reportedly happened in the Doubeli area of Yola on Thursday night around 9:45 pm.

 

 

 

According to SaharaReporters, sources in the neighborhood said the incident has now triggered a riot, in which the angry youths have resulted in demolishing the Doubeli police station.

It was gathered that the incident started after policemen, who were on a routine patrol in the area, reportedly arrested a young man sitting in front of his compound.

 

 

 

The policemen wanted to whisk him away but the locals resisted and demanded an explanation, consequent upon which the police fired shots that hit and killed Yerbure.

 

 

 

Besides the grandmother, a young man in the same area also sustained an injury during the sporadic gunfire.
