NANS Debunks Story Opposing Tribunal Verdict, Calls For Peace In Osun

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANs) Zone D has frowned against the report linking their association to the recent tribunal judgement yesterday, 27th of January, 2023.

Following the announcement of Ademola Adeleke as the Governor of Osun state, the opponent party took a step by involving the tribunal to make judgement which finally turned out in favour of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the immediate Governor of Osun state.

In a memo received by VOICE AIR MEDIA, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANs) has, however, reacted to the trends claiming that their association is not contented with the judgement made by the Tribunal.

It’s so astonishing to see some group of people calling themselves the leadership of NANS southwest zone writing against the judgment of the election petition tribunal delivered yesterday Friday 27th, 2023.

This is to bring to the notice of the public and to clarify that the statement signed by one Alao John is not from the leadership of NANS at any level either JCC, Zonal, or National rather his personal opinion and decision.

As a student’s leaders at all level, we believe in sustaining of democracy and it’s imperative to say that what happened yesterday at the tribunal court was a sign that our democracy is still reliable and dependable.

The election tribunal is to clear the controversy over the election procedure and affirm the election result without any form of bias, prejudice or coercion. The tribunal has done its work as stipulated under the law without any form of predisposition. Anyone who’s not satisfied with the judgment should proceed to the court of appeal to scrutinize the judgment of the tribunal and make the final judgment.
