The presidential candidate of Labour Party, (LP) Mr Peter Obi, has bemoaned the plight of Nigerians living in Internal Displaced Persons (IDP) camps.
Obi said a situation where Nigerians live in IDP camps in their country was not acceptable and promised to work towards changing the situation if elected next year.
Obi made the pledge while addressing journalists Tuesday on the sidelines of the Labour Party strategic meeting with governorship, senatorial and House of Representatives candidates across the country in Abuja.
He promised to address the insecurity and other problems bedevilling the country to put a stop to IDPs within the country.
The LP standard bearer, who lamented the recent killings of a student in Jos, the Plateau State capital and a pregnant lawyer in Lagos, noted that the country cannot afford to continue on that trajectory.
Obi said: “There are so many cases of kidnappings and killings all over the country. Our party has also been attacked severally, our member was attacked and killed in Kaduna. The same thing happened to our member contesting in Imo. We cannot continue this way.
“These are the problems in the country that we need to deal with as quickly as possible, where Nigerians can be safe in their own country. We will achieve this if voted into power in 2023.”
Obi called on the youths and well-meaning Nigerians to come together to take back their country and set themselves free from oppression and from producing more poverty. CONTINUE READING……………………………………….
