THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has stated that anyone found guilty of buying votes during the 2023 elections will face either a one-year prison sentence or a fine of N500,000.

This was stated on Monday by Professor Muhammad Lawal Bashar, who serves as the INEC Commissioner for Jigawa State. He was speaking with journalists at the time.

The Commissioner stated that the Electoral Commission is prepared to use the BVAS machine to conduct all of the elections in order to guarantee that the elections will be free and fair.

” Voters who have registered more than once will not be able to cast a ballot because the machine will identify voters as they go to the polling place.
