NNPCL blames road construction in Lagos: Petrol scarcity

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) on Wednesday attributed the inability of motorists to get petrol to fuel their vehicles across the country to ongoing road construction around Apapa area of Lagos where depots for storage of the product are located.

According to the NNPCL, the movement of trucks being used to load petrol from the depot to different parts of the country have been by constrained by the ongoing road construction.

NNPC’s Executive Vice-President, Downstream, Mr Adeyemi Adetunji, who said this at a press briefing added that access road challenges in some parts of Lagos depots has also impacted loading of petrol to Abuja and other parts of the country.
