Former Anambra South Senator, Andy Uba, has won the governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which was held on Saturday.
Uba scored 230,201 votes to defeat 13 other aspirants and would be flying APC’s flag in the November 6 governorship election.
His closest rival, Johnbosco Onunkwo, polled a total of 28,746 out of the 348, 490 total votes cast.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, who is chairman of the APC primary election committee, declared the outcome of the election on Sunday morning.

Sixty-two-year old Uba was a member of the People’s Democratic Party until February 2017 when he defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress.

xii. Onuwkwo John Bosco – 28, 746
xiii. Edozie Madu – 3,636
xiv. Maxwell Okoye – 2,540.
VAM News earlier reported that former Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Charles Soludo, had emerged as candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance in the forthcoming election.
APGA is currently the ruling party in Anambra State.
