Shocking: Sporadic shootings as terrorists attack Kuje Prison


There were sporadic shootings as terrorists reportedly attacked Kuje Medium Custodial Centre, Abuja on Tuesday night.

The bandits were said to have attempted to shoot their way to the prison to free some of their members in detention.

Residents in the area said they have been hearing sporadic shootings consistently for 20 minutes along the prison area but no one dared to come out.



Fear has pervaded the area as the shootings became intense. The terrorists were also reported to have attacked the prison with bombs.

Vanguard reports that a high calibre bomb had first gone off at about 10:25pm followed by a second and third blasts as well as sporadic gunshots that threw residents into panic mode.

There are no official comments from the Nigerian Correctional Services or the police yet on the reported attack.
