The Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room has called on the security agents, INEC and other actors in the Ekiti State Governorship election to desist from any action that could undermine the credibility of the poll.
Co-convener, Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room, Mr James Ugochukwu made the call in Ado Ekiti during a pre-election press conference.
Mr Ugochukwu explained that if all the major actors do what is right during the poll, the election would be globally accepted and the nation would move forward.
He asked INEC to take steps to hold its offficials accountable for any violation of its guidelines.
Mr Ugochukwu commended INEC for the level of preparedness and smooth distribution of sensitive materials.
On security, the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room co-convener charged security agents to be proactive during by poll by protecting lives and property of electorate.
Mr Ugochukwu called on all political parties participating in the election to conduct themselves in a manner that devoid of violence and never engage in vote buying.
He said any political party that engages in activities capable of disrupting the governorship election would be pointed out and shamed by CSOs.
The Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room therefore called on electorate to come out and perform their civic responsibilities without fear of intimidation urging them not to engage in vote trading.
