NANS NON ELECTIVE CONGRESS

NANS CONSISTUTION MAJOR AREA OF AMENDMENTS

1. Tenure of office:

1 years compulsory and 3 month grace period of transition process

2. JCC:

Featuring and institutionalization of JCC
From Joint Campus Committee to Joint campus Council will election as sole means of leadership emergence

3. CPC:

featuring and institutionalization with define roles and function

4. Funding:

mandatory payment of capitation by all member unions (SUG) with clear sanction for defaulting institutions and sharing and allocation of said fund among NANS and sister unions NAUS, NAPS and NANCES

5. Convention Chairman: redefinition of role and limit including removal process

6. Eligibility to contest NANS NATIONAL POSITIONS : Only full time students with matric number with at least a semester stay on campus

7. GENDA sensitivity

only female comrade can contest Vice President special duties, ex Officio 1 and National Treasurer

8. Offices/ executive positions:

increased by 1 with creation of Office of Vice President Inter campus affairs while clerk and Secretary General are now independent elective offices

9. Zoom:

senate can now surmon physical and virtual senate meeting to take resolution on any issues except Disciplinary related and main or bye election matter

10. Secretariat rotation:

To Comprises of President and Secretary General going to one zone, senate president and senate clerk going to another zone and Vice President National Affairs going to one zone then others to be open to other zones different from the 2 zones taking the presidency and senate presidency positions.

11. Zonal Structures : to operate six zonal structures A – F In-line with Nigeria geo political zones.

Zone A – North West
Zone B – South South
Zonc C – North Central
Zone D – South West
Zone E – North East
Zone F – South East.
