The Provost of Osun State College of Education, Prof Kola Labayo Kazeem, has been accused of corruption, gross misappropriation and financial recklessness.

They Provost was also accused of allocating some part of the institution’s land to illegal miners.

The tenure of Professor Kazeem will end on November 20, 2021.

These had made some workers to raised their voices and asked the state government to properly investigate the Provost.

According to sources in the institution, Professor Kazeem since assumption of office had perpetrated various kinds of impropriety which has put the financial fortunes of the college in jeopardy.

Recently some staff of the institution were said to have circulated some leaflets within the institution containing series of allegations against the provost.

He was also alleged of “misappropriating college resources through his younger brother (Femi) who is a notable contractor on campus.

However, it was gathered that on Tuesday, some miners whose the Provost allegedly allocated the land for chased out the staff who are using the College’s venture.

The miners were said to have been threatened to come back.

“Throwing our college heritage away by installing his best friend as college venture manager (Mr Kayode Farinloye) who is helping him to embezzle college fund, felling off college trees which serves as wind breaker for college buildings and repair of staff school building at the rate of 10million naira.”

“We will appreciate if this man can be asked to proceed on leave since his tenure is almost expiring for all these to be investigated before he will escape from the college on the 20th of November, 2021 when his term will end.”

In a swift reaction, the outgoing Provost debunked the allegations describing it as an attempt to tarnish his “good image”.

According to him, “I have not seen any allegation. Nobody has written to me. I have not stolen money, and I didn’t sell land for anybody. I didn’t collect one hundred millions from anybody.

“You know these people that writing papers they are afraid of me being given a second term.

On the allegations that he installed his best friend as the school’s venture manager , the Provost who outrightly denied the allegation said Mr Farinloye is a staff of the College.
