Gospel Musicians’ Association of Nigeria holds GEC meeting, conducts bye-elction in Osun

The Gospel Musician Association of Nigeria (GOMAN) on Wednesday held a Multi-purpose General Executive Council Meeting in Osogbo, the Osun state capital.

It was a moment of Joy as the GOMAN National President, Evang. (Dr) Funmi Aragbaye, led other members, into the meeting.

GOMAN scheduled the meeting to review to its position and elect officers to occupy the vacancies as it concerns its National Executive Council.

Bye election was conducted to fill up those vacancies. Presiding over the election was Evang. Dr. Abiodun Ulabor who doubled as the Senior Special Adviser to the National President. Among those that contested are; Apostle Juliet Olufumiwa, who contested for the position of National Financial secretary; Evang. Stephen Hamzat Boladale vied for the position of National Asst General Secretary and Lady Evangelist Gloria Oladiti contested for the position of National Welfare 2 and at the end of the poll, they all won resoundingly.

At the meeting, while delivering her keynote address, Dr. Aragbaye charged members to be more committed and be heavenly conscious.

“Every member should be more committed to doing the needful, be more open, and embrace other gospel musicians irrespective of tribes and states to come into the fold.”

“We are called to win more souls through our God given talents. We should be ready to go further to tell the whole world that God saves through our songs.,” Dr. Aragbaye said.

She charged the newly elected officials of the association to see their emergence as a call to service.

“You are elected to render your service to God. Also, you must be ready to abide by the constitution of the association, also be ready to use your resources to move the association forward.

“And It’s my prayer that God will back you up in this new assignment. You will not fail God, you will not fail yourself.”

Asked about the membership strength of the association, Mrs Aragbaye said the group is doing fantastically well to bring more people to joining the team.

“We’ve been doing youth empowerment programs, holding concerts, lectures and conferences,” She said

Talking about the moral decadence in the society today, Dr. Aragbaye revealed that “Ever before now, i have been using my songs that are spiritually inspired to preach against the ills in the society.”

“When Nigeria celebrated her 40th independence, I did a song with a title “God save Nigeria from total darkness”. The song also talks about peace in Nigeria.”

She however admonished those who called themselves gospel musicians that are still communion with the people of the world to retrace their steps back.

“One thing people detest is truth and vowed that till I see God in glory, I will keep on saying the truth. As a matter of fact, I don’t want to be in the good book of anybody but of that who sent me which is God.”

GOMAN is an association of all gospel musicians and artistes in Nigeria and in diaspora with branches in America, UK and Canada. The association exists in sixteen states of the federation, Nigeria.
