Harry Kane has won the 2026 Men’s Ballon d’Or, becoming the first English player to claim the award in 25 years.
England captain and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has won the 2026 Men’s Ballon d’Or, claiming football’s most prestigious individual honour at the awards ceremony in London on Monday.
Kane was recognised following an outstanding 2025/2026 campaign, during which his goalscoring performances for Bayern Munich established him among the leading contenders for the award.
The ceremony, held at the London Palladium, brought together leading figures in football to celebrate outstanding performances in the men’s and women’s game.
Kane’s victory makes him one of the few English players to win the men’s Ballon d’Or, joining Stanley Matthews, Bobby Charlton, Kevin Keegan and Michael Owen, who claimed the award in 2001.
The Bayern Munich forward also made history by becoming the first player to win both the Ballon d’Or and the Gerd Müller Trophy in the same year.
