Tinubu’s Minister son sworn in as LG chairman

Osborn Nweze Umahi, the 28-year-old son of Minister of Works David Umahi, has officially assumed office as Chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State following his swearing-in on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

The inauguration attracted political leaders, government officials and other dignitaries, including the Minister of Works and former Ebonyi State Governor, Senator David Umahi, who attended the ceremony as a special guest.

Photographs from the ceremony showed Osborn Umahi interacting with dignitaries after taking the oath of office.

Voice Air Media had earlier reported that Umahi emerged Chairman-elect of Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, following Saturday, August 22, local government election.

Umahi, contested the election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and is expected to lead the council for the next phase of its grassroots development.
