THE Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, in Osun State has congratulated Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke on his re-election victory in the 2026 governorship election.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Odesola Oluseye Titus, IPAC said the governor’s victory reflects the confidence of the people of Osun in his leadership and vision for the state.
The council also commended the electorate for their significant turnout, describing it as a testament to the strength of democracy and the power of the people’s voice in the state.
IPAC further applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for conducting what it described as a free, fair, credible and conclusive election, noting that it has set a standard for future electoral processes in Nigeria.
However, the council urged INEC to address issues related to the malfunction of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, to ensure smoother operations in subsequent elections.
The body also recognized the efforts of security agencies during the poll, stating that their dedication helped to maintain peace and allowed citizens to exercise their franchise without fear.
Despite the positives, IPAC strongly condemned reported cases of vote buying by some major political parties during the election. It said such actions undermine the integrity of the democratic process and must be addressed to uphold fairness.
“As we move forward, let us all remain committed to building a more robust electoral system that reflects the will of the people. Together, we can ensure that democracy thrives in Osun State and Nigeria at large,” the statement read.
