In a powerful demonstration of grassroots leadership and commitment to the welfare of the All Progressives Congress (APC) faithful, Chief Wahab Bolarinwa Adetunji, the Asalu of Modakeke, who doubles as the apex leader of the party in the community, has, once again, reaffirmed his place as a pillar of the progressive party through the distribution of cash and food palliatives to over 3,000 party members across the town.
The well-attended event which took place on Saturday witnessed an overwhelming turnout of the APC leaders, elders, women, youths, ward executives, and supporters, all of whom gathered in solidarity with the apex leader.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement, unity, and renewed determination as beneficiaries received the much-needed support ahead of the forthcoming Osun State gubernatorial election.
Speaking during the exercise, Chief Asalu emphasized that the initiative was borne out of his deep concern for the welfare of the party members and his belief that a strong and united grassroots remains the foundation of every successful political movement.
He urged the members of the party to remain steadfast, committed, and focused on the collective goal of delivering a resounding victory for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji AMBO, the governorship candidate of the APC in the forthcoming 15th August, 2026 election.
Adetunji further called on the party faithful to continue mobilizing support across every ward and polling unit, stressing that the forthcoming election presents another opportunity to restore purposeful leadership and sustainable development in Osun State.
The palliative distribution was greeted with heartfelt appreciation from the beneficiaries and party stakeholders, who described the gesture as timely, compassionate, and reflective of Chief Asalu’s long-standing tradition of selfless service.
Many of the beneficiaries commended his consistency in prioritizing the welfare of the party members and strengthening the APC structure through practical support rather than mere political rhetorics.
Political observers noted that the impressive turnout and seamless organization of the programme further demonstrated Chief Asalu’s formidable grassroots influence and his capacity to mobilize support across the length and breadth of Modakeke.
They described the event as a significant boost to the APC’s preparations for the August 15 gubernatorial election.

In attendance at the event were: Hon. Wale Amusan, former chairman of the Area Office, Modakeke; Mogaji Kola Olabisi, the state APC Director of Media and Information and Chief Olasupo Daud Aderemi, former Supervisory Councillor for Education, Ife-East Area Council.
Others are Hon. Kareem Ismaeel Akande, former Special Adviser to Ex-Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Engr. Femi Olatoye, Chief Sakin Ajala, Hon. Goke Adebowale, the APC chairman in Modakeke, all the local party executives, all the ward chairmen, all the ward youth leaders, all the ward women leaders, thirty representatives from each of the eighty units in the town and other party chieftains.
