News Update

Tragedy struck in Osun state following the killing of a 14-year-old boy identified as Ezekiel Olapade who was reportedly shot by some political thugs in Ilobu, Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the incident happened around 3pm when the suspected political thugs, said to have been led by one Saheed alias Tanfeani, opened fire at a palm wine shop belonging to the victim’s mother located opposite the local government secretariat.

In a video sighted by This Online newspaper, the victim’s father alleged that the attackers arrived in a branded vehicle of one of the August 15, 2026 gubernatorial candidates in the state.

“I was at my wife’s shop with my son and some customers when the thugs arrived in an AMBO-branded vehicle. Initially, they attempted to enter the council, but when they saw a man putting on a yellow cap at my wife’s shop, they directed their shot at the shop. The man wearing the yellow cap was shot, and he is now at the hospital,” he said.
