THE Federal Government has declared Friday, June 12, 2026, a public holiday to mark this year’s Democracy Day celebration.
A statement by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, said the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated Nigerians on the country’s uninterrupted democratic journey.
The statement noted that the minister described June 12 as a symbol of Nigeria’s commitment to truth, justice, peace, and hope for a better future.
Tunji-Ojo also reaffirmed the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to democratic values and governance based on the will of the people.
