Hon. Olujide Olurankinse has emerged as the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for the seat of Member, House of Representatives, Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, following the party’s primary election held on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
The primary election, which took place at Irowo Quarters, Odode Idanre, attracted party leaders, members, supporters, and stakeholders from both Idanre and Ifedore Local Government Areas, reflecting the growing acceptance of the party and its candidates ahead of the general elections.
The organizing committee, headed by Hon. Tugbiyele, officially declared Hon. Olurankinse alongside with other candidates for senate, Hon. Sunday Falae and Hon. Oluwatosin Eniola MHA as the party’s candidates after successfully scaling through all necessary screening processes and securing the unanimous endorsement of party leaders and members across the constituency.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), alongside security agencies, monitored the exercise to ensure compliance with electoral laws and to guarantee a transparent and credible process.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Jerome Odesanmi expressed delight over the impressive turnout of party faithful despite the short notice given for the primary election. He urged members to remain united and committed to the party’s vision of providing purposeful leadership and quality representation to the people.
Also speaking shortly after the exercise, Hon. Mayokun Akinmoladun described the APM primary election as peaceful, credible, and one of the most transparent political processes in recent times. He noted that the party remains united and free from internal crises and litigation.
Hon. Akinmoladun expressed confidence in the electoral chances of Hon. Olujide Olurankinse, describing him as a grassroots politician who understands the needs and aspirations of the people of Idanre and Ifedore Federal Constituency.
“Hon. Olujide Olurankinse understands the yearnings of our people and possesses the capacity, experience, and integrity required to provide effective representation for the constituency,” he stated.
The event also witnessed the presence of several party leaders and stakeholders, including Hon. Adekunle Akinlalu, Hon. Jerry Odesanmi, Hon. Mayokun Akinmoladun, Hon. Olatubosun Adegbeyeni, Hon. Mercy Akinlami, Hon. Jerome Olamiti, Hon. Lee, Hon. Bamidele Boluwaji 7.7, among others.
Party members at the event expressed optimism that the emergence of Hon. Olurankinse would further strengthen the fortunes of the APM in the forthcoming general election.
