2027: Ifedore APC Adopts Hon. Adefisoye ‘Small Alhaji’ as Consensus Candidate for Reps

News Update

THE All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifedore Local Government Area has formally adopted former House of Representatives member, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye, popularly known as Small Alhaji, as its consensus candidate for the Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The adoption was announced on Sunday during Hon. Adefisoye’s consultation visit to party leaders and stakeholders at the APC Secretariat in Igbara-Oke.

Ifedore APC Chairman, Hon. Prince Tunde Adegbonmire, said the decision followed a unanimous resolution by the entire party structure in the local government.

“We are committed to the unity of our party and the vision of His Excellency, the Governor. In line with the Governor’s appeal for cohesion, we have resolved to work for Small Alhaji and adopt him as our consensus candidate,” Adegbonmire stated.

The Executive Chairman of Ifedore LGA, Hon. Oladipupo Ajibola, described Adefisoye’s previous tenure as “unmatched in the history of the constituency,” adding that Ifedore residents were eager for his return.

Similarly, Ifedore lawmaker and APC’s 2027 State Assembly candidate, Hon. Tope Komolafe, said no federal lawmaker from the constituency since 1999 had delivered more impactful representation than Adefisoye. “Ifedore experienced unprecedented federal presence during his time in office,” Komolafe noted.

In his response, Adefisoye thanked party members for their confidence, recalling his 2019 electoral victory in Ifedore. “In 2019, I won in Ifedore convincingly, and with your support, I believe we will do the same in 2027,” he said.

He pledged improved performance as a ranking lawmaker, citing projects executed across all zones in Ifedore during his tenure and his 2020 motion for the completion of the abandoned Owena Multipurpose Dam, now ongoing.

A key highlight of the event was the withdrawal of former Ifedore LG Chairman and aspirant, Hon. Alex Oladimeji, who stepped down and declared support for Adefisoye as consensus candidate.

On zoning, Adegbonmire stressed the “Ifedore Lokan” agenda, noting that Ifedore has produced a representative once, while Idanre has done so twice.
