Osun: TOP Accuses Oyetola’s Faction Of Causing Unrest In APC

The Osun Progressives (TOP), a caucus within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has condemned the Sunday evening brutal attack on its members during their weekly meeting in Saint John Grammar School Oke Atan Area of Ife East Local Government by hoodlums.

They blamed the attack on the IleriOluwa group which has the backing of the State governor.

Describing the attack as unprovoked and uncalled for, Adelowo Adebiyi, the chairman of the caucus in a press release stated that the attack was an attempt by the IleriOluwa group and fifth columnists to distract TOP members from the noble pursuit of reworking the party.

In his words, “The attacks on APC members are detrimental to the interest of APC.

“The attacks are becoming too many and the security agencies have a duty to protect all Nigerian citizens, including APC members who have different views from those in government.

“There has not been an attempt at curbing the forewarned attacks by the desperate IleriOluwa groups and their allies despite the fact that many of such attacks had been reported to the security agencies in the state.

“The governor’s group, IleriOluwa is becoming intolerable. It’s steps and actions will surely have dire consequences in the end.”

Adebiyi, who is a former state chairman of the party also alleged that that state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola who is the chief security officer of the state was claiming ignorance of the violent attacks on the party members.

He emphasized that the caucus was awaiting the outcome of investigation into Sunday’s attack on its members which had been reported at the appropriate police station with the names of sponsors who were behind it.

Meanwhile, the Osun state Commissioner for Home Affairs, Tajudeen Lawal has denied the allegation levelled against him by members of The Osun Progressives (TOP).
