Twenty prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members abducted while travelling from Ibadan, Oyo State, to their orientation camp in the South-East have been released.
The development was confirmed in a statement signed by Adeola Oloko, Media Aide to the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The Olubadan, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, said he received confirmation of their release from Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, during a telephone conversation at about 5pm on Wednesday.
The prospective corps members were abducted while travelling to their NYSC orientation camp, triggering concern among their families and calls for intensified efforts to secure their safe release.
Their freedom brings relief to the families and communities that had been anxiously awaiting news of their whereabouts.
