Fuel pump price per litre increased

Nigerian filling stations have increased their Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, pump price.

The adjustment was discovered on Saturday that Dangote Refinery-backed MRS
MRS filling stations along Kubwa Expressway, Lugbe Expressway and other locations in Abuja had increased their petrol price to N1,230 per litre from N1,210.

Other filling stations, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Rainoil, Empire Energy and Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company, had their fuel prices adjusted to N1,250 and N1,299 per litre, respectively.

This means that the Nigerian filling stations increased their petrol price by N20 per litre.

A manager at an MRS filling station, in anonymous, said the directive to increase the fuel price came from the company’s headquarters in Lagos.

“We got the directive to raise our price by N20 to N1,230 per litre on Friday, but no reason was given,” he said.

This comes as Dangote Refinery on Friday raised its petrol gantry price to N1,185 per litre from N1,165.

Nigerians will now have to buy petrol between N1,230 and N1,299 per litre in Abuja and environs, just as Brent crude oil prices topped $94 per barrel.

Recall that in the last few weeks, Nigerian filling stations had reduced fuel prices by at least N90 per litre following Dangote Refinery’s earlier gantry price reduction.
